1. SERVICE DESCRIPTION

1.1 Air & Sea Freight: Quantum Logistics provides international freight forwarding services from global hubs to Jamaica.

1.2 Personal Shopping: We offer sourcing and procurement services where we act as an authorized agent to purchase goods on behalf of the Customer.

1.3 Ground Transportation: Local courier delivery services are provided within primary service areas, specifically St. Elizabeth and surrounding districts.

1.4 Tracking: The Company provides automated or manual status updates. Service commitments begin only once a package is received at our international warehouse and documented.

2. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1 Documentation: Customers must provide a valid Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN) and government-issued ID as per Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA) requirements.

2.2 Invoicing: Accurate commercial invoices must be submitted for all items. The Customer is liable for any fines or delays resulting from undervalued or missing invoices.

2.3 Packaging: Customers must ensure vendors package items for international transit. Quantum Logistics is not responsible for damage due to inadequate vendor packaging.

2.4 Prohibited Items: The Customer agrees not to ship items listed in Section 6.

3. COMPANY RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 Care Standards: The Company shall exercise reasonable care in handling, storing, and transporting packages.

3.2 Delivery Commitment: We aim to process and make packages available for pickup or delivery within 1–2 business days after the status is updated to "Ready for Pickup" at our local facility.

4. PRICING AND PAYMENT

4.1 Fee Structure:

  • 1–10 lbs: $700 JMD per lb.

  • Over 10 lbs: $650 JMD per lb.

  • Processing Fee: $250 JMD flat fee per package.

  • Personal Delivery: $400 JMD per delivery.

    4.2 Payment Terms: All charges (shipping, duties, fees) must be paid upfront or upon collection/delivery. We do not offer credit terms (Net 0).

    4.3 Currency: All transactions are processed in Jamaican Dollars (JMD).

5. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE

5.1 Liability Limits: Our liability for loss or damage is limited to the value of the goods once under $100 USD supported by a commercial invoice.

5.2 Exclusions: We are not liable for:

  • Items purchased via Personal Shopping that do not meet customer expectations but match the order link.

  • Fragile items (glass, screens, ceramics) shipped without "Fragile" crating.

  • Electronic failure of items where no external transit damage is visible.

    5.3 Claims: Damage claims must be filed at the time of pickup or delivery. Once the Customer or their agent signs for and leaves with the package, the Company is released from all further liability.

  • NB We are NOT liable for the refund or replacement of lost or damaged goods or products exceeding $100 USD

6. PROHIBITED AND RESTRICTED ITEMS

6.1 Standard Blocked List: In accordance with the Customs Act of Jamaica, we do not ship:

  • Firearms, ammunition, or parts (including toys/replicas).

  • Camouflage patterns or materials.

  • Illegal drugs, psychotropic substances, or drug paraphernalia.

  • Hazardous materials, explosives, or flammable liquids.

  • Perishable goods without prior written approval.

7. DELIVERY TERMS & STORAGE

7.1 Timeframes: 1–2 business days for local delivery post-processing.

7.2 Failed Delivery: If a delivery is attempted and the Customer is unavailable, a re-delivery fee of $400 JMD will apply for each subsequent attempt.

7.3 Storage Fees: Packages are held free for 14 days. On day 15, a storage fee of $50 JMD per day applies.

7.4 Abandonment: Packages unclaimed for 30 days will be considered abandoned and may be auctioned or disposed of to recover costs.

8. FORCE MAJEURE

The Company is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its control, including but not limited to: natural disasters (hurricanes, floods), customs inspections/holds, airline/shipping line strikes, or government-mandated lockdowns.

9. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

9.1 Complaint Process: Complaints must be directed to [email protected] or via our Customer Service line (6 AM – 6 PM).

9.2 Governing Law: This agreement is governed by the Laws of Jamaica. Any legal action shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Jamaica.

10. PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

10.1 Data Usage: We collect names, TRNs, and contact info solely for customs clearance and delivery.

10.2 Protection: We comply with the Data Protection Act of Jamaica. We do not sell or share customer data with third parties for marketing.

11. TERMINATION CLAUSE

11.1 Account Closure: The Company reserves the right to terminate or suspend a Customer’s account for:

  • Shipping prohibited items.

  • Abusive behavior toward staff.

  • Repeated non-payment of fees.

12. REFUND POLICY

12.1 Service Fees: Processing and delivery fees are non-refundable once the service is initiated.

12.2 Refund Process: If a refund is approved for a lost item, payment will be made via bank transfer within 10–14 business days.

13. MODIFICATION OF TERMS

The Company reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of Quantum Logistics services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
